Kanye West – Donda Album Cover

As a fan of Kanye West and a designer, I was disappointed to see the cover art for his album “Donda” was just a black square. So, I decided to create a design in which I think embodies the style of music and the messaging Kanye has created in his album. I wanted to keep the black background in my design in order to still represent the original design adding in bright reds and oranges inspired by the completely red outfit Kanye wore at one of his listening parties.

In this album, Kanye tells the story of being able to speak to his late mother though God. Therefore, in this album cover I have created an angelic feeling though the lens flare paired with two crosses, one on the top left of the word “DONDA” and the other is subtle, placed below the ‘N’ where two circles in the lens flare meet.
